1901-1907 Studied in the art school in Odessa. 1910-1912 Worked at the Free Russian Academy in Paris. Took part in Futurist exhibitions & publications. Painter, book & set designer.

1908 Studied in the Petersburg University, S. Zaidenberg's Studio, & Zionglinsky Studio. In Paris studied in M. Denis & F. Vallotone Studious (1911-1912). Painter, books & stage designer. Basically active after the Revolution. Lived in Germany & France since 1924. 
Baranoff-Rossine, Wladimir
(1888 Kherson - January 1944, France)
Painter. Progressed from Fauvism to Cubism, & to an end of 1910th to Abstractionism. From 1910 until 1917 lived in Paris & Copenhagen. Developed ideas of composer A. Scriabin about music & color. Performed in Moscow two "Colorvisual concerts" in Meierhold & Bolshoi Theaters in 1923-1924. In 1925 emigrated to France.

Ermilov, Wassily

1905-1911 Studied in Kharkov. Then with V. Mayakovsky & D. Burliuk. Painter, theorist, book & general designer. Since 1914 active as KuboFuturist. From 1917-19 adopted Suprematism. In 1920th helped to publish in Kharkov the last Russian Avantgardist' journals "Avangard" & [in Ukrainian] "Nova Generacia" with articles of M. Matiushin, K. Malevich, etc. Author of his "Experimental Constructions" & prominent figure in Kharkov & Ukrainian Avantgarde.

Until 1907 Studied at the Art School in Kiev & at the Grande Chaumier Academy in Paris. Painter, designer, brought news about French art to Russia.
Filonov, Pavel

(1877 St. Petersburg - 1913 Ussiriko dacha, Finland) 
1890-1893 Studied in St. Petersburg at the School of Drawing; 1906 studied at Zvantzeva's Studio with Bakst & Dobujinsky. Wife of M. Matiushin. Grew from Impressionism to a Member of the Kubo-Futurist group, but stayed apart from "art hooliganism". Painter, book illustrator, poet, & writer. Some avantgardists saw in her "The Mother of Russian Futurism".

Mayakovsky , Vladimir
(1893 Bagagadi, Georgia - 1930 Petersburg)
Became involved in the Hylaean group around Velimir Khlebnikov and David Burliuk, which evolved into the KuboFuturist movement. Mayakovsky soon became known as one of the group's urbanists, a trait which would perhaps see its most full expression in his celebration of Soviet industrialization after the October Revolution. Strzeminski, Wladyslaw

Wladyslaw Strzeminski worked in various fields of artistic and social activity. His thinking was characterized by the well grounded assumption that artists can influence the art viewers and their perception by constructing rules of historical-artistic ways of seeing and image building. Strzeminski wanted to have an influence on ways of seeing in an institutional manner - this attitude was typical of the avant-garde, and related to the postulates of the heroic phase of the Russian avant-garde, with whose representatives and institutions he actively co-operated in the late teens and early 1920's.
